Giving back to America

FINALLY a week at home and I have been laser focussed on moving my nonprofit business idea closer to launch. ICYMI I regularly speak about how our family has been overwhelmed with the love, support and sense of community that we've found moving from the UK to the US. We truly feel as though we're living the American Dream. BUT I'm not blind to all those who find living here a nightmare and I truly want to help.
I've always wanted to start a nonprofit and this ambition was heightened when my Aunty Bubs passed away a couple of years ago. She was SO charitable and I spent many weekends with her as a kid volunteering and raising money. None of the eulogies at her funeral were about how she was a successful businesswoman, but rather how much of an impact she had on the World. Bubs can never be replaced, but her good work should be. Problem is, I don't particularly enjoy the traditional 'please donate' or 'let's run 5km' type fundraising so I set about starting something new.
Fast forward, I'm now in the process of obtaining charitable status for my corporation 'The Bubs Effect' and I'm working with a business advisor and team of researchers to develop a model where American brands donate their overstock to me, it's sold and the proceeds are given to the traditional charities that are helping American people. Currently the research team are deciding what brands and what charities to partner with and if you have any thoughts on this please, my inbox is always open amber@amberinamerica.com.
The social media presence was an unexpected turn in events on this journey and I plan to leverage that. The money that I make from views/affiliate links/brand collaborations is going towards this startup because grants are pretty tricky to come by and when brands are gifting me items if it aligns with the demographic for The Bubs Effect I'm asking permission to stock them for my site instead of using them myself or giving away to friends. If I can prove that the consumer is being more conscious by selling these products I am hoping that brands start to take notice on a larger scale and..you know..World domination comes next?
If you want to help on this journey the most I can ask of you right now is to engage with my content. Like, comment, share, subscribe, follow...the more people I can reach the faster I can scale this and really start to make a difference and give back to America. Soon I will need even more of your help and I appreciate each and every person who is joining me on this mission.
So that's what I've been working on this week...how about you?
Thanks for reading!
