Charity Update!

Guys! Sorry it's been a couple weeks since I caught up with you. But for good reason...things are starting to move along with mission "give back to America". V quick recap - I'm starting a charity in honour of my late Aunty Bubs. The concept is taking excess unwanted stock from brands, retailing at outlet prices, and donating the proceeds to a variety of causes across the States that need cash! We're starting in the beauty and skincare industry.

A couple weeks back I met with the former CEO of Macy's Inc and I wrote to you saying I wasn't sure how the meeting went, feeling a little deflated but never giving up. WELL. I think he's warming to me :P I've been chatting to him this week, he's made a great intro at Estee Lauder Companies (who have a bunch of beauty/skincare brands under their ownership) and he's helping me to tweak my pitch deck before I meet with them. I'm delighted because what I desperately need at this stage of the build is TONNES of feedback from people that have the industry experience and every conversation and tidbit is priceless! He's said that he has a good instinct about me and what I'm trying to achieve (best compliment I ever had) and I'm hoping if I keep nurturing this relationship he will see the benefit in helping me towards my goals.

My pitch deck is also going in front of a couple of VC firms and Angel Investors this week (I can't accept traditional investment as a charity, only donations) but I'm asking for their feedback and network as wealthy well connected business people - strong believer that it's not what you know but WHO you know!

I really feel that if I can get a couple of credible advocates on my side, enough to get one brand on board, (and if you guys actually buy the products :P) then the rest will fall into place! This is the part where I'm supposed to manifest, right??
